Berry Smoothie with Flax and Chia

Ingredients:


  • 1 cup plant-based milk (almond or coconut)

  • 1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 1/2 tbsp flax meal

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds 

  • 1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 

 

How to make the smoothie:


  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender or Vitamix and blend until smooth.

Notes: Experiment with the flavor by adding cacao nibs, cacao powder, walnuts, or alternative nut-butters (brazil, peanut, cashew). Other optional add-ins include; 1/2 avocado, a handful of baby spinach, or 1-2 dates for sweetness.

Bonus Tip: For an easy-to-digest smoothie, skip the ice and “chew” your smoothie, or eat with a spoon!
